Heather Vandenengel

Communications Coordinator

Heather grew up on the traditional territories of the Nipmuc Nation in Central Massachusetts and lived in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal on unceded territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) Nation for six years before moving to the homelands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən people.

Her background is in journalism and writing, including managing and writing for Google Travel projects and working as a beer writer. Her passion for food and volunteer work on farms led her to study Food Security through Ryerson University, and then to work at Heavenly Roots Farm on Salt Spring Island and Square Root Farm in Central Saanich. 

She first joined CRFAIR partner organization Victoria Community Food Hub Society in 2022 as Marketing and Communications Coordinator, and joined CRFAIR in 2026 as Communications Coordinator.
