Nelly was born and raised in Mexico, where she learned early on how powerful food can be in shaping culture, community, and well-being. With a background in Food Processing and more than 20 years as an entrepreneur in the Food Service Industry, she has always been passionate about sharing how our everyday food choices influence not just our bodies but also the environmental footprint of food production.
Nelly moved to Canada in 2022 to pursue a Master's degree in Environment and Management and strengthened her passion for transforming food systems to be fair, sustainable, and grounded in community well-being. She has contributed to projects advancing food equity, collaborating to support local food makers and the access to culturally relevant food.
